This policy explains how Common Ground ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit commongroundclo.com or buy from us. For UK and EU data protection law, Common Ground is the data controller. Contact: support@commongroundclo.com.

What we collect

  • Contact and order details: name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, items ordered, and order history.
  • Payment details: processed by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login and saved preferences.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email or the contact form.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed and how you arrived, collected with cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To take, deliver and support your order, including returns: performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep records we are required to keep (for example tax and accounting): legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure, and to understand and improve the store: our legitimate interests.
  • To send marketing emails or texts, and to use non-essential cookies for analytics and advertising: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to run the store: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment providers, delivery companies, email and customer-service tools, and analytics and advertising partners (such as Meta, TikTok and Google) where you have consented. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for 6 years to meet tax and accounting rules. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.

Cookies

Essential cookies make the store and checkout work. We use analytics and advertising cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email support@commongroundclo.com. We will respond within one month. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Our store is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
